Validation Study on the Utilization of the Korean Version of the STAR Scale

Abstract
This study has tried to prove the validation of utilization of STAR scale which has been developed to measure working relationship between a person with mental disorders and a case-manager in community mental health practice field. In order to examine this study, 258 persons with mental disorders and 63 case managers in 10 community mental health centers and 6 social rehabilitation centers were surveyed as research subjects for Korean version STAR scale. The results of explanatory factor analysis on STAR-K explained that two-factor structure between positive and negative working relationship factor being different from original scale is appropriate and its credibility and validity has been proved. The convergent validity and discriminant validity of STAR-K examined through the confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability of STAR-K were ¥á= .84 and ¥á=.89. This kind of study results showed that STAR-K Scale can be used as a scale tool in measuring working relationship in community mental health practice field in Korea.
